PM-Kisan Yojana: Empowering Indian Farmers with Financial Support
The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) is one of the most impactful schemes introduced by the Government of India to provide financial assistance to small and marginal farmers across the country. What is PM-Kisan Yojana?
The PM-Kisan Yojana is a Central Sector Scheme fully funded by the Government of India. Under this scheme, eligible farmers receive Rs. 6,000 annually in three equal installments of Rs. 2,000 each. The amount is directly credited to the beneficiary's bank account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode.
Objectives of the PM-Kisan Scheme
To provide income support to all eligible landholding farmer families.

To ensure financial independence and improve the standard of living of farmers.
Who is Eligible?
All small and marginal farmers who own up to 2 hectares of cultivable land.
The beneficiary must be an Indian citizen.

The farmer must possess Aadhaar-linked bank account.
Who is Not Eligible?
The following categories of people are excluded from the PM-Kisan scheme:
Institutional landholders
Retired government employees with a monthly pension of over Rs. 10,000
Income Tax payers
Professionals like doctors, engineers, lawyers, etc.
Former and current Ministers/MPs/MLAs
How to Apply for PM-Kisan Yojana?
Farmers can register themselves in the following ways:
Online Registration through the official website: https://pmkisan.gov.in
Visit the nearest Common Service Center (CSC).
State government nodal officers also facilitate registration.

Land ownership documents
Bank account details
Mobile number
PM-Kisan Installment Status
Farmers can check the status of their payments by:
Visiting the official website.
Clicking on the ‘Beneficiary Status’ section.
Entering Aadhaar number or account number.
This feature helps farmers track whether the installment has been credited or not.
